Bogoslovka manor complex with beautiful Pokrovskaya churсh is just in 40 minutes from the very center of Saint-Petersburg. It is closer than Peterhof with its gold and fountains, and closer than Pushkin with Amber room and gold. Here you can refresh your feelings and find rest for your soul - it is nature and wood and old Russia you can see and feel there. It is reconstruction of old russian wooden buildings. The main attraction - reconstruction of Pokrovskay church which was built in 1708 and designed by Peter the Great and which became the prototype for famous church in Kizhi Pogost in Karelia. The original Pokrovskaya church was located in modern Vologodskaya region and burnt in 1963.

The Summer Palace, do you know where is it and which one of the Palace has this name oficially? People often use the name Summer Palace with different palaces which have absolutely different names. They often call the Great Palace in Peterhof - Summer Palace. The palace which actually has the name of the Summer palace is not so big and famous. But I consider it more important than the Great Palace. We know that the Great Palace in Peterhof was badly damaged by Nazis during the Second World War and a lot of things there were remaid. The Summer Palace in Summer Palace of Saint-Petersburg is small and cosy. But it survived all the wars and floods and there we can see original furniture and the floor - the things which Peter the Great and his wife Catherin were touching and using 3 hundreds years ago, can you imagine.

PETEHOF The idea of Peter the Great was to make it like Versailles in France but better than Versailles. He succeeded to do it.

Peterhof museum located in Peterhof town outskirts of Saint-Petersburg.

It is in about 1-hour drive from Saint-Petersburg in the south-west direction, along the sea-shore, just about 20 kilometers, but there are speed limits and traffic jam and traffic lights on the way. So, about 1 hour.
